Working as an editor on Ainsley’s Fantastic Flavours was a brilliant experience and one of those productions where everything just clicked into place.
The show had an incredibly fast turnaround; we had just 5 days to cut a full ITV hour, including producer reviews, revisions, and final sign-off.
That kind of schedule only works when every department is completely dialled in, and the team on the ground had everything planned to a T.
The quality of the shoot organisation, logging, scripting and production prep made a huge difference once the footage hit the edit.
From a technical standpoint, the workflow relied heavily on Avid’s multicam editing workflow, which is essential for working with ‘as live’ material quickly and efficiently.
It was a really collaborative environment, and seeing full ITV-hour first cuts come together so quickly was hugely rewarding.
